Milwaukee Officer Struck by Police Vehicle During Pursuit

The officer was taken to a hospital to be treated for "serious but non-fatal injuries," according to police. He is expected to survive. Milwaukee police said they're wishing for a full and speedy recovery.

A Milwaukee police officer is recovering after being hit by a Milwaukee police car during a chase on March 30, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.

Police said officers attempted to stop a vehicle wanted in connection to a carjacking and shooting around 4 p.m., but the driver refused and sped off, WISN reports.

During the chase, a 30-year-old Milwaukee police officer with 11 years of service deployed spike strips from a median on an I-94 westbound on-ramp. Milwaukee police said the suspect's vehicle then jumped the median. The officer was able to move out of the way of the suspect's vehicle but then got hit by another pursuing squad car.
