A Ventura County (California) Sheriff’s deputy and his K-9 partner crashed over a beachside cliff Saturday night.
The Ventura County SO said on Facebook that Deputy Castaneda and his K-9 Danny were responding to a call for service at a restaurant and bar on Pacific Coast Highway when they were involved in a collision with a sedan.
“Upon impact, Deputy Castaneda’s vehicle veered off the roadway, became airborne, and landed on the large boulders near the shoreline below,” VCSO said on Facebook.
Deputy Castaneda was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. K-9 Danny suffered a minor cut to his face.
The driver of the other vehicle is suspected of DUI.
