Nine police officers with the Hampton University (VA) Police Department have been fired for posting "misogynistic, racist … remarks" on social media.
According to Inside Higher Ed, the agency conducted an investigation into the online activities of its officers following a wave of similar investigations sparked by revelations of offensive remarks revealed by the Plain View Project in June.
Hampton University—which historically has served mostly African American students—said in a statement, "The university has a zero tolerance for such behavior."
