Chief of Minnesota State Patrol Leaving for Position with IACP

Col. Matt Langer made the announcement on Wednesday that he will be leaving the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to serve as Director of Global Policing for the IACP.

After serving as chief of the Minnesota State Patrol for the past decade, Col. Matt Langer is stepping down to take a position with the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

Langer made the announcement on Wednesday that he will be leaving the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to serve as Director of Global Policing for the IACP.

Langer started with the MSP in 1999, KEYC reports,

Langer said he is most proud of the troopers that keep the state’s roads safe, each day, and make a difference in the lives of Minnesotans.

Col. Langer’s last day will be April 2. Upon his departure, current Lt. Col. Christina Bogojevic will serve as interim chief.
