Thirteen officers with the Philadelphia Police Department are likely to be terminated from their jobs over a series of inflammatory comments they shared on Facebook.

According to The Hill, Commissioner Richard Ross announced at a press conference the 13 officers would be suspended for 30 days with intent to dismiss. Four others will receive 30-day suspensions.

The officers' social media posts were exposed by a Philadelphia-based organization called the Plain View Project, which scoured the social media accounts of thousands of officers across the country, sparking numerous internal investigations.

Some 72 Philadelphia police officers have been placed on administrative duty as a result of the scandal.
