A Utah boy eschewed the idea of operating a traditional summertime lemonade stand and instead opened on the sidewalk a stand selling "Ice Cold Beer," according to the sign he held while standing beside a number of coolers.

He also had a sign saying, "WANNA COLD 1?!"

The signs drew the attention of concerned neighbors, who summoned officers from the Brigham City (UT) Police Department.

Officers arrived to discover that the boy was actually selling Root Beer, and had simply written the word "Root" in tiny letters on his sign.

The officers approved of the boy's commercial ingenuity and told him that his stand can remain in operation for the duration of the summer.

Officers then partook in several frosty soft drinks and posted images of the exchange on its Facebook page.
