Texas Officer Shot at Traffic Stop Released from Hospital

An officer with the Arlington (TX) Police Department who was shot during a traffic stop last week has been released from the hospital.

Chief Will Johnson said on Twitter, "Our Officer has been released from the hospital. He has significant challenges ahead but for now he is home."

The officer—whose name has not been released—was in foot pursuit of a male passenger who fled the stop. During the chase, the gunman—identified as 20-year-old Treshun Symone Miller—reportedly drew a 9mm pistol and opened fire.

The officer was struck in the pelvis.
